This page shows miscellaneous things I am currently doing.

Since January 2016, I have organised a bilingual poetry reading series in the bookshop Desperate Literature in Madrid. The format is simple: one poet per session, reading (usually in Castilian, but we have had poems in Basque and Asturian as well) and with me reading the English translations. When required, I do the English translations as well. So far we have heard from Mercedes Cebrián (translations by Terence Dooley), Sofía Rhei, Sonia Bueno, Hasier Larretxea, Pilar Adón (translations by Terence Dooley), Ana Gorría (translations by Yvette Siegert), Eduardo Moga (translations by Terence Dooley), Ignacio Vleming, Jordi Doce (translations by Lawrence Schimel and Reginald Gibbons) and Alejandro Fernández-Osorio. The last scheduled reading for the time being is Sandra Santana on 7 April 2017.

Since November 2016, I have been a member of the editorial team of La Errante, a bilingual magazine/pamphlet (it’s printed on a single A2 sheet and folded down to 32pp.) of literature and art. The first issue, which contains poems and prose and artwork by Spanish and English-language writers, appeared in January 2017. Other members of the editorial team are Terry Craven, Emma Roulette, Martha Sprackland and Rob Greer. Submissions of poetry (up to six poems) and prose (500 words), in English or with an English translation if possible (the team can translate from Spanish, French and Russian) should be sent to laerrantemagazine at gmail dot com, along with a brief biographical note. Deadline for submissions to issue 2 is May 1.
